LISA TSUBOUCHI

Lisa is a Bay Area Native, a professional event planner, floral designer and potter. She is a lifelong Ghibli fan, self-proclaimed cat lady, and she embraces her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit in everything she does. She has studied Hawaiian hula, bellydance, and is an aspiring polyglot (Japanese, French, Turkish, and hopefully soon Korean).

In clay, she loves exploring marbling techniques; using two different clays speaks to her mixed race experience. Constantly navigating between East and West, sometimes breaking, sometimes blending, sometimes contrasting, always beautiful. The marbling cannot be recreated, each one is unique and stands alone in time.

Lisa is Founder and Creative Director at Sachi & Maja, a wedding planning business with an in-house floral design studio. She strives to create meaningful and enjoyable experiences for her clients, encouraging them to enjoy not only the big day, but also the process as a whole as much as possible.

Her goal is to create functional beauty with meaning. Whether it’s a wedding, a piece of pottery or a floral arrangement, she is fueled by attention and intention, making her creations memorable and unique. She has been a member of The Potters’ Studio in Berkeley, CA and is currently a member of the Tannery Studios, also in Berkeley.

In her free time you might find Lisa at The Hidden Café reading books on grief, rediscovering her voice as a singer, or spending time with her derpy Calico cat, Peppy.
